Nine vocal jazz legends, performing together for the first time on one stage in the NJ and NY area, The Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices and Jon Hendricks lend their legendary sounds to an unforgettable evening of music for a cause close to their hearts. It will be an unforgettable night of music.
Ten-time Grammy Award winning group, The Manhattan Transfer features Jersey Shore native Tim Hauser (St. Rose Alumni), Alan Paul, Janis Siegel and Cheryl Bentyne. Celebrating 40 years and over 28 albums, their tight vocal harmonies are so versatile, their Grammy Awards span multiple categories.Best known for hits like ³Boy from New York City, Twilight Zone/TwilightTone, Route 66, & Birdland.
About to hit 25 years together, New York Voices is the Grammy Award winning vocal ensemble rooted in jazz. The group features Darmon Meader, Peter Eldridge, Kim Nazarian and Lauren Kinhan. NYV has traveled the globe amazing audiences with their impeccable voices and stunning arrangements.
Jon Hendricks is one of the world’s favorite jazz vocalists, and is widely
considered to be the “Father of Vocalese”. In 1957 he teamed with Dave
Lambert and Annie Ross to form the legendary vocal trio Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross. They perfected the art form of Vocalese and took it around the world. Hendricks continues to collaborate with other artists and is a Distinguished Professor of Jazz Studies.
